What Else?
Mila Kunis stepped out at an event this week, I’m not sure what she was promoting, but it has been a while since she’s been on a red carpet. So long, in fact, that I don’t actually remember her red carpet style. Is it just because COVID fried my brain or is it because her style wasn’t all that memorable because she didn’t care that much? Based on this white dress and the plain black pumps, it might be the latter. (Go Fug Yourself)
In addition to Anderson Cooper popping up non-stop on my feed last night for his Hurricane Milton coverage, it was also Caroline Calloway. My algorithm clearly knows me and indulges my worst impulses. Anyone who’s familiar with Caroline’s scammy ways should not be surprised that she stayed – for the “content”. And she wasn’t the only content creator trying to maximise attention from the situation. Think of the first responders who would have had to risk their own lives rescuing people who were doing it for the likes. (Pajiba)
Travis Barber and Shanna Moakler’s daughter, Alabama, decided to share on social media that she won’t be voting because she’s not informed enough to make a choice and doesn’t care to be educated on it. Those are her words, I’m not taking them out of context. She’s 18 years old and this would be the first election she’s eligible to vote in and she has made that choice. Because, of course, her life doesn’t depend on it. This is the definition of privilege. She doesn’t care because she doesn’t have to care – and she doesn’t have to care because she has money to protect her from the consequences. (Celebitchy)
I feel like this piece by Jake Kring-Schreifels was written just for me, or my demographic cohort. We’re going back to the 90s again and this time it’s the Pulp Fiction poster. I can confirm that it was a dorm room staple. I didn’t have it up in my room but through my time in university it was a constant, no matter the dorm, no matter the floor, that poster would make an appearance. (The Ringer)
Also just for me, though I can’t afford it… Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s clothing. That’s all I’ll ever need to click on an article. Say her name in my presence and I’m immediately abandoning whatever I’m doing. Anyway, there’s an auction. And you could own her coat if you have the money. (The Cut)
