It’s Oscar week, which means plenty of pre-Oscar parties are happening. Last night it was the Vanities: A Night For Young Hollywood party, presented by Vanity Fair and Instagram. The hosts included Oscar nominee Monica Barbaro—still gloating about calling that, by the way!—Keke Palmer, Anna Sawai fresh off her SAG wins, and Aaron Pierre.

Queen Keke showed up with long red hair and a gold dress slit up to here, once again giving strong Jessica Rabbit vibes.

Monica, meanwhile, is once again in red. Her red carpet style doesn’t push any boundaries, but she is always very well styled top to toe. I’m interested to see her Oscar dress this Sunday. She wore a pretty great Elie Saab number back in 2023 when she was there with Top Gun: Maverick, but now she’s a nominee. Will she return to Elie Saab, who dressed her when no one knew who she was?

Speaking of Top Gun: Maverick, also present at the event was Danny Ramirez, looking unphased after Captain America: Brave New World fell off a cliff in its second weekend of release. (It’s not a total bomb, but it’s not a slam dunk, either. In their current state, this counts as a win for Marvel), as well as a bearded and nearly unrecognizable Noah Centineo; Heartstopper star Kit Connor (season four is not yet renewed); Liv Hewson; D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai; Anora star Mark Eydelshteyn; and current White Lotus star Nicholas Duvernay, glimpsed in the season premiere discovering The Body in Thailand.

Also, Julia Fox was there, giving Julia Fox.

Never change, Julia. I’m serious, we need you at events like this.

In a similar vein, Gabriel LaBelle decided to wear a trucker hat but no shirt. I know the youths are into “dirtbag” style, but can we agree to leave trucker hats in the 2000s?

Finally, Michael Gandolfini repped the nepo baby crowd. I actually really like him as an actor. He’s young, we’ll see how far he goes, but I think that apple didn’t fall from the tree. Also, this party is a sneaky conglomeration of the cast of Alex Garland’s next film. His follow-up to Civil War is called Warfare, which he co-wrote and co-directed with Ray Mendoza. It’s based on Mendoza’s time as a Navy SEAL in the Iraq War. The best parts of Civil War were the action scenes, so Warfare will probably be extremely anxiety inducing to watch. The trailer is very stressful.

The film stars Gandolfini alongside Noah Centineo, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, and Kit Connor, all present at the party last night. The film also stars Will Poulter, Charles Melton, and Joseph Quinn. With that collection of internet boyfriends in one place, the press tour is guaranteed to be unhinged.
