Jessica Alba and Alex Edelman?!

What’s with the Oscars this year producing all these new couples? Or possible new couples? This is the third couples post of the day – and involves two people no one would have predicted: Jessica Alba and Alex Edelman. 

But first a note on Alex because I interviewed him last year when he was promoting his special, Just For Us, which you can watch in Canada on Crave. During our conversation, as Joanna just reminded me (she was the producer on this), he and I joked about how doing standup helped his dating prospects because obviously when he’s up on stage for half an hour, making people laugh, the attraction meter goes way up. 

And winning an Emmy for said special doesn’t hurt either. 

Alex was at the Vanity Fair post-Oscars party the other night…and was seen leaving with Jessica Alba, his jacket around her shoulders. DeuxMoi secured the exclusive photos – you can see those here. 

Jessica, as we all know, is now single after filing for divorce from Cash Warren, to whom she’d been married for 16 years. Alex, meanwhile, has been single for almost two years, according to this New York Times interview from June 2023 when he confirmed that he and Hannah Einbinder had broken up the month before. He also implied he was single when we talked a year later.

Hannah was also at the VF party in a pretty green dress.

None of this is unusual in the sense that, well, in Hollywood, sometimes the dating pool is small. It’s not the first time that exes have been at the same party and it won’t be the last time that one half of those exes meets their (possible) new romance at said party. Jessica Alba might not have been on the bingo card for Alex Edelman but, maybe, he can be the new Pete Davidson.
