Olivia Colman, Anjana Vasan, and Jessie Buckley were at the premiere last night of Wicked Little Letters. And before we get to Olivia’s hair, let’s talk about this film and how much I wish we could all gather in a theatre together and watch it and scream with laughter.

If you haven’t already, check out the trailer because… it’s the BEST.

“You look like f-cking Queen Victoria shoved a f-cking nettle up her f-cking pussy” is probably what I will be saying to my best friends for the next year. I’ll start with Sasha, because we are constantly messaging each other with foul sh-t, because that’s just how some women talk to each other. My everyday language is dirty as f-ck, and this is what Olivia Colman, the Oscar winner, is revelling in here, alongside Anjana and Jessie: profanity, glorious profanity!

Remember The Favourite? Well I am “c-nt-struck” once again six years later. Wicked Little Letters is giving “c-nt-struck” all over and while I’m not entirely sure if there will actually be any c-nting happening in this film, there is unmistakable “c-nt-struck” energy. Someone please put Olivia Colman and Samuel L Jackson in a movie together and just let them curse the whole time.

As for Olivia’s hair, it’s been platinum for a while now and it looks f-cking amazing on her, especially at this length. Maybe I’m taking it too personally because I recently went platinum for a night for the Fete Chinoise Lunar New Year gala a couple of weeks ago and I can’t be modest here, I looked f-cking amazing too. You can see it on my Instagram page if you’re interested.

Unlike Olivia, mine was a wig, a wig I will wear again, because I think I’m taking up the wig lifestyle. It’s so much better for your hair and … well… the options! Wig work is an artform – hair artist Caitlin Cullimore designed mine for me because I asked for a dragon to be stenciled on it and the brilliant team behind Ladies Love Units did the installation.

Willie and Kevin of Ladies Love Units are wig masters. It is magic they way they create the wigs and then put them on you, like it’s growing out of your own head, laying those edges so flawlessly it’s sorcery. Women wear wigs for all kinds of reasons but it’s never meaningless, and that’s how Willie and Kevin approach their craft: they are helping people find themselves in their hair. Here are few examples of their work – look at those expressions, look at that joy:

I am a wig novice, probably like a lot of other people out there. Willie and Kevin really introduced me to the wide range of sh-t you can do with wigs and how versatile they can be. And now I’m just obsessed with their careers, with how dedicated to what they do – which is art, it’s truly art. If you’re interested, or you know someone who might be, reach out to them. It’s an unforgettable experience.
