This one is for our site manager Emily, because she has a Hailee Steinfeld problem. And Hailee’s look at the Arcane premiere the other night probably isn’t helping with that problem.
Holy sh-t, this is a f-cking moment. A slinky black long-sleeve dress by The New Arrivals, completely open in the front, with a large sequin gold bandeau bra attached across the chest that also works as an anchor to hold the shoulders in place. Because without it, the dress would probably slip off the shoulders the whole time. With the bandeau there, though, she likely wouldn’t have had to worry about it so much. It’s function and fashion, outstanding construction.
This is the first time I’ve truly been sold on Hailee’s hair this length. She cut it, I think, in the summer, and it was fine, but I’m really into this sexy tousle she has going on, especially with how it matches up with the dress – easy flirty hair flips at the ready, as if she’s saying, I know I’m the hottest but I could slip it off easily into a pair of sweats and we’re still good to go. Yum.
Then there’s Ella Purnell in Dior Resort 2025, the same collection that Taylor Swift pulled from for the VMAs a couple of months ago only she downgraded it with her basic shoe choice and modifications. This collection, in my opinion, is one of the best we’ve seen from Dior in a long time, I f-cking love it. Probably because I’m partial to tartan but also because the styling is so fresh and modern, with military vibes and girl band energy plus some Elizabethan influence – a clash of so many different aesthetics that totally works.
This set on Ella is exquisite. And you can see how expensive the crafting is, that stitching on the jacket and the top of the skirt that blends right into the pleats – this is beautiful, beautiful work and I looooove how the hardness of that particular texture of leather is offset by the crochet lace collar and cuffs.
On the runway this look was styled with socks over the knee and boots. Obviously I prefer it that way. And Ella totally could have pulled that off. The black pumps aren’t necessarily a miss, but if she’d leaned into a slightly more punk beat, especially with those pigtails, it would have been a f-cking banger.
