Tessa Thompson was first

In one of his VMAs wrap-up posts today, MC posted about how many people showed up in red at the VMAs. That was on Sunday but on Saturday, Tessa Thompson set the red standard, in my opinion anyway. 

Tessa is at TIFF to promote Nia DaCosta’s Hedda – the world premiere was last night and there’s some buzz that Tessa could contend for an Oscar nomination if they can put together the resources for a proper campaign. Sarah is screening Hedda today and her review will be published soon. 

In the meantime, let’s talk about Tessa’s red look (Saint Laurent) at the Golden Globes party at the Four Seasons the other night. I was there, I saw her in this fit in person and I spoke to her briefly and I don’t know if the photos are doing it justice. Pretty sure my exact words to her, “You are wearing the f-cking sh-t out of this” while waving my hand up and down her body”. And it wasn’t just me – I was with a group of friends and we gagged all over her because, like, in person she is so unbelievably beautiful, I wanted to eat her face. 

For those who are curious about celebrity heights, Tessa is, surprisingly, smaller than I thought. I was wearing combat boots, with a two-inch chunk heel, and I was taller, and I am rarely taller than anyone. My height is 5 ft 3 and a half so I’d put her at slightly less.
