Dear Gossips,
There is so much to watch this weekend. Of course the big watch is the return of Game of Thrones, beginning its six-episode run to the end. But that’s not until Sunday night (9pm on Crave in Canada). Tonight Kathleen and I are seeing Little, starring Regina Hall, Issa Rae, and Marsai Martin, who came up with the idea and also executive produced. We’re the assholes who are going to be quoting the movie back and forth to each other as soon as it’s over.
Speaking of assholes, it’s that time of year when everyone dresses like one: Coachella. The weekend won’t be all posers though. Childish Gambino headlines tonight and then, as soon as his performance (which will be livestreamed) is over, his film, Guava Island, will begin streaming for free on Amazon Prime for 18 hours. Guava Island stars Donald Glover, Rihanna, and Letitia Wright. Written by Stephen Glover and directed by Hiro Murai, it was the secret project they were filming in Cuba last summer, an hour-long film about a musician who’s trying to plan a festival. A teaser was released the other day:
You’re all invited to our staycation with @donaldglover and @rihanna. The new #ChildishGambino film #GuavaIsland will be available on Prime Video starting Saturday 4/13 at 12:01am PST. pic.twitter.com/rxXecJEfzp

Watching Donald and Rihanna dancing down the dock is going to sustain me through whatever f-cksh-t Winter is bringing to Westeros and the real ass f-cking winter that won’t end here in Toronto.
Whatever you’re planning for the weekend, though, don’t blow your load and make sure to get some rest. Because Beyoncé is coming for your sleep in a few days. Tuesday night/Wednesday morning it’s #BeyoncéHomecoming. Duana, Kathleen, and I are planning to watch it together Wednesday morning at 3am, which is when it’s expected to drop on Netflix (hopefully it’s the same in Canada – NETFLIX CANADA PLEASE BE THE SAME), before we go to work. And I’m pretty sure we’re not the only ones rearranging our schedules for the Queen. This is why she let us know 10 days early so that we can be prepared. You know who’s also prepared? Adele:
“Why does she always know when I need her?”
Adele talks about Beyoncé like the rest of us talk about Beyoncé.
Have a great weekend!
Yours in gossip,
Lainey
