Reese Witherspoon turned 50 last month and this is professionally relevant because Madeline, her character in Big Little Lies, also turns 50 in the upcoming third season, which will be based on Liane Moriarty’s sequel, Big Little Truths; the book is releasing August 25.

No word yet on when production is set to begin on BLL s3 or BLT if they’re titling the series after the novel but Liane has shared some plot details which include the birthday, that the story begins with Madeline’s 50th and the kids are all teenagers now, so that will be a factor in the lives of the five women of Monterey. And Renata, played by Laura Dern, will likely have a bigger role because Liane was so taken by her performance in the first two seasons.

While we wait to find out more about when Big Little Lies begins shooting, season five of The Morning Show is underway. They started a few weeks ago, Reese shared a video from the first day back on set with Drake as the soundtrack, which made me laugh because… like… when did The Morning Show ever start from the bottom, LOL.

Reese was seen in New York this week, shopping with her boyfriend Oliver Haarmann – not an actor, not an agent, the first relationship she’s had (that we know of, anyway) with someone who isn’t directly involved in the entertainment business. He’s a finance guy, they’ve been together around two years, with a similar reported net worth of half a billion dollars. That might be the key to their compatibility.

What else happened today…

Zendaya’s breathtaking Schiaparelli dress – the “something blue” finale for The Drama’s press tour – understandably took up all the oxygen in the room. But there was another blue look she wore last week that should be seen. (Go Fug Yourself)

Umm…yeah. How do you recast Viggo Mortensen?! And I say this as someone who does not f-ck with Lord of the Rings, etc etc. Orlando? Easy. But Viggo? It’s a mega challenge. (Pajiba)

Glen Powell is The Comeback King, alongside Judd Apatow. Worth noting here that Glen and Judd co-wrote the script. So while there are some who’ve said that he’s in a bit of a slump, he’s both making his own work, and it’s getting made. In Hollywood, right now, that’s a win. (The Mary Sue)

Shiloh Jolie showed up in a music video, looking exactly like her mother. Best part is… it’s K-pop, Dayoung’s new song. This exposure is so great for her – and accidental. (Celebitchy)

Thank you, Kathleen, for writing about Paradise being the most addictive show on TV. One of the few shows that I watch every week when new episodes drop, like Severance. And unlike Love Story: John and Carolyn which has stalled for me at episode 7. Happy to report that Paradise season two was not a flop…for all the reasons Kathleen lays out. Nothing to add here except I too LOLed at that scene at the end between X, Teri, and Dr Torabi. (Refinery 29)
