Renée Zellweger and her castmates, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall, from Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, minus Hugh Grant, were in Rome to promote the movie today. This is one of my favourite outfits on her of all time.

It’s Maison Margiela and there’s some excellent layering happening here courtesy of Petra Flannery, her stylist. Petra, by the way, is most known for two of her clients: Emma Stone and Zoe Saldaña, with whom she’s worked for a long, long, LONG time. But she and Renée go back at least eight or nine years now too. On this press tour, though? They’ve hit another gear.

The Margiela is perfection. It’s a sleeveless long jacket, but worn over a blouse, and positioned so that the shoulders are offset – very clever. Under that a pair of trousers, creating proportion and long lines. Renée isn’t super tall but she looks it in this fit. And comfortable too.

Mad About the Boy comes out next week, in time for Valentine’s Day. Or, um, Galentine’s Day. I hate that word, Galentine’s, but it’s appropriate here because Bridget Jones is a movie I prefer to see with my friends, not with my husband.

What else happened today...

I am currently reading a book that has me in a chokehold. Will talk more about it when I’m finished but I can tell you that a friend of mine recommended it to me and every day I’m blowing up her phone, at least 20 times, if not more, yelling at her for putting me onto it because I at once hate the f-cking thing and cannot get enough. Staying with books though, here’s Pajiba’s most recent book superpost. (Pajiba)

The Fug Girls are really not feeling this denim set on Olivia Holt. I don’t hate it but I do see what they’re objecting to. The top is fine, I quite like. But I think the length of the skirt is the issue? Especially with those shoes. The shoes are bad choice across the board. As for the oversized tags on the bag – see this is probably what you’ll fight me on, because I’m all about an enormous tag, LOL. (Go Fug Yourself)

If you were wondering about Jaden Smith’s outfit at the Grammys, something something to do with vampires. I was wondering about whether or not his neck hurt. (Celebitchy)

Milk tea lipstick is a thing now. I mean, the shade was big in the 90s but the kids these days just label everything as food and convince themselves it’s new. Olivia Rodrigo’s Grammys lip is giving 90s. Looks good on her but I don’t think I can get with the trend, I want a brighter overall effect and the milk tea kinda dials it down. (Teen Vogue)
