It seemed like a return to normal, as normal as possible, I guess, after a turbulent week for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. The big news last week was when the LAPD “blindsided” Rocky at LAX, arresting him for an alleged shooting incident in November 2021 and also raiding his home. Rocky and Rihanna were coming back from Barbados after what looked like a romantic and restful few days before the arrival of their first child.
On the weekend though, the two were back to their regularly scheduled programming: dinner at Giorgio Baldi. No matter what goes down, no matter the drama, Rihanna will always show up for her gnocchi. And be DRESSED for it.
"It was a happy and relaxed group. Rihanna looked great. She sat next to A$AP and they were affectionate," the source tells PEOPLE, adding: "They dined for a couple of hours. The focus was very much on Rihanna and the baby."
Here’s how you know that the source was someone who was just at the restaurant, or one of the paps, and not an actual person who knows the two of them. Because they’re referring to him as “A$AP” and not “Rocky”, lol.
Still, the point stands. They’re together, they can separate whatever stress there is to do with the arrest from their excitement about their baby, and they clearly have no plans on hiding from the media and the public following the incident – which is why they went to Giorgio Baldi, because if they intended to go underground, that certainly would not have been where they chose to eat.
So can we talk about timing? Because we’re a week away from the Met Gala. Rihanna hasn’t confirmed her exact due date but, like, is it possible? I know there are all kinds of rules about being pregnant and flying but we’ve had plenty of examples of celebrities travelling late into their pregnancies …
Obviously baby and Rihanna health and safety is the priority. But if she decides she can go, I mean, I don’t have to tell you how much better the Met Gala is when Rihanna is there.
