I’m majorly terrified of Zika. My sister got it not too long ago and let’s just say it’s not so cute. The fear of it has literally paralyzed me from going to places where the virus lives, which btw, is in a f-ck of a lot of places. After I booked my trip to the Dominican last month and realized they still had Zika, I had a wee panic attack.

So I searched the crap out of bug sprays - even asking peeps on Twitter if they had any recommendations and holy sh-t I was horrified to see the ingredients in these brands. Even the ones that touted they were natural were still filled with toxic junk. And I’m sure by now you know all about the concerns over how harmful Deet can be.
The only natural ingredient that is approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is lemon eucalyptus. It’s just as powerful and effective. But again, searching the products that contained it were still not ideal.

Until….I found Hebe Botanicals based in New Zealand.

They have formulated a natural insect repellent called SAFE. SAFE is made from the leaves of the lemon eucalyptus tree (eucalyptus citriodora) and what makes their potion so potent is that they acidify and fractionally vacuum distill lemon eucalyptus essential oil to increase and concentrate the PMD content. The other ingredients in the bottle are also just as clean - organic alcohol, a touch of natural vanillin and sandalwood essential oil.

This combo not only smells pretty darn decent, but it’s the absolute one-two punch to mosquitoes. I sprayed this stuff on my entire trip and not one bite. And dudes, mosquitoes LOVE me.

This product is a complete game changer. Now yes, ordering from this company isn’t dirt cheap. It isn’t the price of the product that stings but it’s the shipping. But I was happy to pay a little extra to get the product quickly and who the hell cares when it comes to your health and safety. Seriously, try it for yourself. It is a total MUST HAVE.
