Serena Williams has cast her vote for Song of the Summer, and she’s also taken a side in the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef. The G.O.A.T. is from Compton and she’s staying with Compton – “Not Like Us” is her jam. It’s now been two years since Drake took a shot at Serena by disrespecting Alexis Ohanian. And on that note, because there have been some rumours lately – you all saw what Alexis posted on IG a few days ago, right? He was with his wife. Now can we move on? (Hollywood Unlocked) 

By the way, Serena made those comments about “Not Like Us” at EssenceFest this weekend in New Orleans. Janet Jackson, Victoria Monet, and Usher performed. He was celebrating the 20th anniversary of Confessions and performed the whole album. There was music and there were also outfits. Keke Palmer looks amazing in a one-shoulder black dress; Lela Rochon and Garcelle Beauvais do not age and is there something about starring with Eddie Murphy that’s some kind of immortality potion?; but my favourite look is Regina King – that white shirt and those jeans! John Cena is retiring from the WWE and the reason this is a surprise to me is because I didn’t know he was still wrestling. Which tells you that wrestling is not in my feed. But also – he seems to show up in so many movies and on The Beef so, like, can I be forgiven for thinking acting is the only thing he does? He’s a good actor, he makes me laugh. He KILLED me in Blockers. And he was pretty entertaining as a Fak. So, from a non-WWE fan point of you, this makes total sense to me, I don’t know why he waited so long. PS My favourite thing about John Cena is that he’s a huge BTS fan. (Pajiba)

Here's another pop culture knowledge gap of mine: House of the Dragon. Don’t watch it and don’t really want to, and I’m saying this as someone who was very invested in Game of Thrones. It’s a big show, people talk about it all week, and I have no idea what’s happening. So these memes and jokes that keep popping up on social media are a mystery to me. (The Mary Sue)

Tobey Maguire, one of Leonardo DiCaprio’s best friends, might have a new girlfriend. And since he’s in Leo’s wolfpack, you probably know her bio: a model, 20 years old. Which makes her three years older than his oldest daughter, Ruby. Leo and Tobey are the same age, 49, turning 50 this year. I wonder if Leo is jealous, since he’s been with Vittoria Ceretti for a year now and she just turned 26, ancient. (Celebitchy)
