Intro for February 24, 2025

Dear Gossips,   

It’s a sweep for Shōgun through award season, starting at the Emmys last September when the series won Outstanding Drama, and again at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice, culminating this weekend at the Independent Spirit and the Screen Actors Guild Awards where the cast was named Best Television Drama ensemble… which speaks to the show’s universal appeal – from industry insiders to critics to whatever it is that you want to call the membership of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association to the actors’ union, Shōgun checks every box. 

You know who checks my box? Obviously my beloved Yabu, aka Tadanobu Asano, because no one has a better smile:

A badass motherf-cker! 

But let’s also give some love to members of the Shōgun team who don’t get enough shine. Like Moeka Hoshi who actually won the Best Supporting Television Actress Critics’ Choice Award a couple of weeks ago along side Tadanobu in an excellent red dress: 

And crushed it this weekend with two looks that bring out the hips. Here she is in Balmain at the Spirit Awards…

…following that up with Louis Vuitton for the SAGs. You’ll note, Da’Vine Joy Randolph has been wearing a variation of this lampshade style so it works on different silhouettes. 

Also, Shinnosuke Abe whose character, Buntaro, on the show is so unsexy, and he did such a great job making him so unsexy, that it takes you by surprise how hot he is in real life. HOTTTTT.

Why do they all have such good hair?! Was this a requirement to be cast?!
