Louis Vuitton is the most valuable luxury brand in the world so a fitting close to a Paris Fashion Week that seemed to be rejecting quiet luxury. There wasn’t a lot of it from the biggest players – certainly not at Valentino for Alessandro Michele’s debut collection which was about as unquiet as it gets.

For his latest collection at LV, Nicolas Ghesquière went with a Tudor theme, going way back to push into the future. Big shoulders and peplum, I love the drop waists and the layers, and I think I might be obsessed with their new spring shoe. It’s a sandal and a sneaker and ugly but also so f-cking cool?

As always though, because this is LV, the show was heavy on star power with their two most viral ambassadors seated next to each other in the front row. Lisa was just announced as the house’s new representative earlier this year and the brand is obviously leveraging her influence as much as they can. Here’s what they just posted this morning:

The other young star who brings LV their money’s worth in hype, of course, is Zendaya. This is what it looked like when Z arrived – and how about the flex of having someone travelling with a lighting kit alongside her just to make sure she gets that glow! I’m dead!

We’ve been talking about the bubble skirt the last few weeks and Zendaya and Law Roach are still working with the bubble. I like this a lot more than the green bubble dress she wore last week in New York but it’s because of this sublime jacket, no ordinary tuxedo jacket. The huge stiff lapels that come off the neck, wide shoulders that taper to the waist – it’s marvellously constructed and, of course, worn by one of the few people who can model it best.

Lisa and Zendaya have known each other a while. They’re both also Bulgari ambassadors so they’ve hung out over the years at these kinds of events. They shared a cute moment together during the show yesterday:

But next to Zendaya was Cate Blanchett, in a killer pair of leather pants with leather bow belt and a badass fringed blazer.

My favourite black and white look, though, was not on Cate but on Da’Vine Joy Randolph. Look at this gorgeous dress with the lampshade skirt!

Da’Vine feels good, and she should. Because this is suuuuuuch a perfect look for her.

Alicia Vikander has also been an LV ambassador, for a number of years, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen her in LV that hits. This, then, in my opinion, is a bit of a comeback. It’s how chill the top is, and a completely different energy, over the sheer polka dots… the mix and match of it is the fashion here, and it works.

You know what doesn’t work so much, though? Ana de Armas + Louis Vuitton. It’s a flop. Not the best star to brand combination, sorry.
