We’ve had a teaser, we’ve had a clip, and in the ongoing “Netflix won’t just give us a Bridgerton season 3 trailer” string of promotion, the latest are a pair of “passing the torch” videos between The Viscount and Viscountess Bridgerton and Colin and Penelope. That is, Simone Ashley passes the torch of romantic heroism to Nicola Coughlan, as does Jonathan Bailey to Luke Newton.

Lainey is “crying about these Kate and Anthony CRUMBS”, such as Simone Ashley introducing herself as “Kate Bridgerton”:

You have to live on crumbs because we got so little of Kate and Anthony just vibing in season two! Honestly, I hope season three has a LOT of “Kanthony” to make up for it. I think I might die mad about Bridgerton season two?

Anyway, here’s Jonathan Bailey passing his torch to Luke Newton:

It’s very cute, and you really do get a sense that (some of) these are people who have known each other for years now, and genuinely enjoy one another. Also, Jonathan Bailey is just SO outrageously handsome.

Did you see him in Fellow Travelers? I finally caught up with it, and it’s so heartbreaking and well done, and Bailey and Matt Bomer are so spectacular as a pair of lovers separated by social mores and circumstance through the social and sexual upheavals of the mid-20th century, but at the same time…it is almost BLINDING to watch Bailey and Bomer share the screen together. Like, just a DISTRACTING amount of beauty on screen. But also! A very good miniseries, with a truly poignant finale.

Back to Bridgerton. Why won’t they just give us a trailer?! What are you hiding! There are still two months until “part one” of season three premieres, plenty of time for a trailer, but when I say I kind of don’t trust Team Bridgerton anymore, this is what it looks like! Although, I should point out that we have a new showrunner this season. Jess Brownell is taking over from Chris Van Dusen, the showrunner of the first two seasons. I am VERY curious to see how that shapes Bridgerton going forward, especially since I’m still mad about Kate and Anthony!

We're Squawking about this today! (app link here)
