Simu Liu has been promoting the new animated film, In Your Dreams, directed by Alex Woo, that was released last week on Netflix. It’s about two kids who are coping with their parents’ breakup, going into their dreams to find someone to grant their wish for their parents to stay together.

Given the subject matter and the audience, it was a natural fit to set up a collaboration with Sesame Street to talk about dreams. But also, Sesame Street content is always welcome. Who can resist Cookie Monster, he’s just cute. “Me want me brain to pick a different movie”, I love this line and how he delivers it, LOL. I would give anything to be on Cookie’s call list when he has a bad dream.

My good friend the Cookie Monster had a bad dream the other night, and I got to share some of my dream insights with him. Watch IN YOUR DREAMS, my new animated movie, on @Netflix now!

It’s not exactly as viral as Timothée Chalamet’s Zoom call but this is wholesome and sweet and what kind of an asshole would have some sh-t to say about Cookie Monster partnering with Simu to reassure kids about their dreams?!

What else happened today…

Demi Moore in a stunning Erdem dress to promote Landman which, I don’t know anyone who actually watches this show, do you? (Go Fug Yourself)

Two years ago, or was it last year, I can’t remember, because as Sarah asks every day…what is time? Anyway, either last year or the year before, on Oscar Monday, dead tired and delirious, Duana and I walked to the Funko store on Hollywood Blvd. I’m not super into collectibles, I don’t have a single Funko Pop, which is why I was amazed that there is a Funko Pop for literally everything pop culture. Why do the characters on Friends need a Funko pop? Anyway, Kayleigh Donaldson just wrote a great essay about the decline of Funko. (Pajiba)

Speaking of collectibles, I do have a Labubu, it was gifted to me several months ago and she lives on my golf bag, which means I haven’t seen it in weeks. My friend Ann Pornel would never treat her Labubus this way, she buys clothes for them and travels with them everywhere. Not sure she would see the Labubu movie though. (Celebitchy)

They’re working on a sequel to Top Gun: Maverick, so the third movie in the franchise. We are nowhere close to it heading to production. How old will Tom Cruise be by the time he finally starts shooting it? But no matter the age, can you keep Maverick out the air? NEVER OF COURSE NOT. (The Mary Sue)

Justin Charity’s analysis of Mr Beast’s rise to the top… or dragging us down to the bottom. I guess I’m just old and becoming irrelevant because I will never, ever accept that he is the future of entertainment. I was also today years old when I learned that he counted to 100,000 on a livestream and people watched? Please, people, can we turn this around? Is it possible? (The Ringer)
