Taylor Swift’s The Eras tour stops in Nashville this weekend for three shows. This is where it started for her, so her fans have been coming up with all kinds of theories about how she might make the Nashville concerts extra special. 

 

Right now, they seem particularly focused on when she’ll announce/release Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) - they think it’s happening either next week or the week after. At least that was the primary preoccupation up until yesterday. And then the Sun did this: 

 

According to the Sun’s sources, Taylor and The 1975’s Matt Healy are “madly in love”. Even though they’re both on tour, they’ve supposedly been FaceTiming constantly. And that unlike how it was when she was with Joe Alwyn, she and Matt don’t want to hide their relationship so he’s flying to Nashville to join her this weekend because they are “ready to go public with their romance”. 

If you recall, Taylor and Matt were rumoured to be a thing nearly ten years ago, back in 2014, when she was seen wearing one of his band tees. They’ve been friends ever since and have collaborated on a few unreleased songs. Back in January this year, she was the surprise guest in London at The 1975 show where she performed her smash hit “Anti-Hero” for the first time live. And as I wrote in that post, it was an interesting decision, considering that Taylor is never casual about her music and is always deliberate about what she performs and when she performs it and since she’s all about Easter eggs, was there a hidden message behind her decision? 

 

Still, that concert was before the Grammys. And while Joe Alwyn wasn’t seen at the Grammys with Taylor this year, she was photographed at the afterparty wearing his jacket. 

And most importantly… this is the Sun. Who in Taylor’s very tight circle is talking to the f-cking Sun?! That’s the reason there aren’t a lot of people taking this very seriously. I mean, it’s the Sun. And the details here, about how Taylor and Matt will be premiering their love in Nashville – what would be the point? She doesn’t need anyone’s help selling concert tickets, she doesn’t need to be helping anyone else sell concert tickets, and it’s been years and years since she’s put her own love life on blast, so I’m not sure I buy that this is her move. 

But also, Matt Healy isn’t even the only Taylor dating rumour out there right now. Right up until the Sun came out with the Matt Healy story, it was F1 former world champion Fernando Alonso, random AF, who was hooking up with Taylor, allegedly. It started at DeuxMoi after an anonymous tip. Since then, F1 commentators, ahead of this weekend’s Miami GP, have been totally leaning into it, trying to drop as many Taylor Swift song references into their commentary as possible when they’re talking about Alonso. 

 

And Alonso has also been playing along on TikTok, using the rumours for clout, with his two recent posts – first with Taylor’s song “Karma”…

There is no f-cking way Taylor is with Fernando Alonso, LOL. But he’s clearly loving it, and so is F1 because they’re jumping into the comments with puns of their own. It’s an F1 group manifestation effort. Maybe they can get Taylor to Vegas for the inaugural race in November.
