Dear Gossips,

Monday is Remembrance Day in Canada and the UK and many parts of Europe and Veterans Day in the US. Yesterday the Cambridges and the Sussexes stepped out in the first of what is expected to be a series of public appearances to observe Remembrance Day, although Kate Middleton wasn’t initially expected to join Prince William at the launch of the National Emergencies Trust, which helps victims of disasters like the Grenfell Fire. It was reportedly a last minute addition to the schedule. Which ordinarily wouldn’t be remarkable but, you know, given the gossip about the Cambridges and the Sussexes, and the relationship between the royal brothers, I don’t think it’s offside to wonder if that was a consideration. All four, Prince William and Kate and also Prince Harry and Meghan, will join the Queen on Sunday for Remembrance events and there will be no drama. They all know to shut that sh-t down on this occasion. This is a time to honour those who have served and sacrificed. And it can be a time, with that in mind, to move past the past, and put on a show of solidarity behind Her Majesty. Like, everybody get in line.

Even Andrew. I mean, if there’s any royal gossip this weekend, shouldn’t that be the story? If I’m one of the palace courtiers, I’m hoping nothing new breaks related to Andrew’s friend, the dead rapist pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, just as he’s with his mother remembering the people who laid down their lives so that he could live his - and in such a dignified way, right?

As Remembrance Day is a holiday in many parts of Canada, we are dark on Monday and returning to regular gossip schedule on Tuesday.

Have a great weekend!

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
