Squid Game begins to end
Between Stranger Things and Squid Game, it’s a big year for Netflix ending their biggest TV shows. Squid Game’s third and final season debuts on June 27, just two weeks away. The cast and series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk were in London yesterday to kick off the press tour.
Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, and Park Gyu-young were on hand for the premiere. Lee Jung-jae looks GREAT in that suit, with the mesh shirt and silver chain.

I’m still lowkey mad The Acolyte didn’t do better, because he made such an effort for it and I wanted that effort to be rewarded, but at least he has Squid Game still going—no one is going to hold The Acolyte against him. I also wonder when Lee will direct again, I really enjoyed his feature directorial debut, Hunt.
Park Gyu-young, meanwhile, showed up in an unfortunately wrinkly satin two-piece dress. I wish it wasn’t so wrinkled, the silhouette and color look great on her.

In its first season, Squid Game became one of Netflix’s biggest shows ever. Seasons one and two are both in the top five for Netflix’s most watched shows of all time, season three seems destined to join them on that list. It looks crazy tense and upsetting.
I was talking to Duana a while back about how, despite many stressful situations, The Pitt is oddly comforting to watch because all the doctors and nurses are so competent. That show is basically made for people with a competency kink. Squid Game is the opposite of that. It stresses me the f-ck out. I have to physically brace myself for how strung out I get watching it. My desire to have a “no thoughts, only vibes” summer is at odds with my desire to see how the saga of Player 456 ends. I am already practicing my deep breaths.
