I guess a Ben Affleck Dunkin’ Super Bowl ad is now an annual tradition. It was teased in the days leading up to the weekend that Ben had recruited an all-star roster of TV celebrities for this year’s edition and, indeed, it was more than initially expected. The premise was 90s sitcom and some of the biggest names from sitcoms in the 90s showed up in the spot, representing hit shows like Cheers, Seinfeld, Friends, Fresh Prince, Family Matters, and A Different World. WHITLEY aka Jasmine Guy! It’s good to see you!

And what we’re seeing is all of them with their old-young faces, the face-tuning here is hilarious. And the person who benefits the most from it is Tom Brady.

As I noted last week when I first posted about Ben’s 2026 Dunkin’ commercial, some of the people we’re seeing on camera here don’t need the money. But since this was produced out of Artists Equity, the crew is getting paid and bonuses here too which might have been added incentive for someone like Jennifer Aniston to take Ben’s call. And that segues to the other thing Ben was doing this weekend and the influence he might have in the industry.

Because in addition to Super Bowl weekend and the Olympics, it’s also still award season in Hollywood, campaigning is still happening. There was a Marty Supreme screening at American Cinematheque the other night with Timothée Chalamet in attendance and Ben Affleck doing the interview.

Ben’s son, Samuel, who is about to turn 14 years old, was also in the audience. And at this age, if you’re going to some industry event with your dad, it’s not out of filial duty but personal interest. Having a presence at this kind of occasion at this time of year is considered an endorsement. So it speaks to Timmy’s popularity within the industry, among his peers and elders. There is, no doubt, some backlash online – but TikTok does not vote on Oscars, and Timmy appears to be hustling to maintain the affection that Academy members have had for him, as reflected in his nominations. Whether or not the majority of those voting members think he’s ready for the Best Actor title at this point in his career remains to be seen but Ben Affleck seems to be coming in with an assist. Wonder whether or not we’ll see Timmy in an Artists Equity project down the line.
