Big, major news for Pittheads as it has been confirmed that Dr. Collins (played by Tracy Ifeachor) will not be returning. Can’t say I’m surprised as her departure last season felt abrupt. It will absolutely work as a storyline but this is not a strictly creative decision. The framing is not copacetic either: “Sources tell Variety that the decision was made by the show’s creative team; Ifeachor is not leaving “The Pitt” of her own accord.”
I think more will come out, this doesn’t feel like the end of the story.
MC reviewed Justin Bieber’s new album, which is the big story today. And it’s buried the news that Scooter Braun and Justin have settled their financial dispute, which dates back to Justin cancelling the Justice tour and Scooter’s company covering the millions in advances that Justin had to pay back. It’s not super glamorous but it is a pretty watershed moment for Justin because this debt has been hanging over him for years. He’s cleared out most of his team and now works with a family office.
TMZ is reporting that they settled for pennies on the dollar and I believe it because it’s not just Justin who would want this issue tidied up. Scooter has also recently stepped down as CEO of HYBE America. I’m guessing he has his next project lined up and likely wanted to tie up any loose ends on the management side.
OK wait, I’m no expert but isn’t Garfield’s whole thing lasagna? He’s kind of famous for it.
Leonardo DiCaprio wore a baseball cap to take a gondola ride of shame out of the Bezos wedding circus but cleaned up for Wimbledon. This is called situation dressing. He’s not embarrassed to be sitting center court.
In yesterday’s opener, Lainey mentioned the September issue and made her guesses. I think Cynthia and Ariana make a lot of sense from a movie star perspective and as LL mentioned, there’s the Broadway angle. Then there’s the allure of the super AAA+ list Julia Roberts. Both are strong choices. I’m going to go rogue here and make my move and say… Victoria Beckham. It has always eluded her. It’s been almost a year since VB’s Netflix documentary was announced so the timing could line up, and on top of that she owns one of the few independent fashion houses. Anna knows the business of fashion and the way it intersects with celebrity because she has shaped the ecosystem. I can’t imagine she is a fan of the way designers are shuffled from house to house by the conglomerates, unable to build a legacy or deepen the archives. Now it’s all about making the It Bag or the It sandal or the It t-shirt for the bottom line. Victoria is doing slow fashion in a way many aren’t, and I could see Anna appreciating that.
