Dear Gossips,   

All seven members of BTS reunited briefly back in June when RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook had completed their mandatory military service. But j-hope and Jin still had their solo commitments through the summer. While those two wrapped up their own engagements, the others have been in the US and after Jin’s final show in Amsterdam last weekend, they’re now all in LA, everyone’s hair has grown back, and yesterday they went to the beach. All seven for seven minutes with choppy internet but four million people still tuned in to basically watch the band’s signature silliness. They are beautiful chaos when they’re all together and after 12 years together, they are still as unserious as ever…

 

Although they never play about the music and the work. One of the biggest takeaways from the livestream is that they are putting in the hours on the new album. Yesterday was their only day off and of course it made ARMY so happy that they were together, goofing at the beach… while the civilians who were there seemingly had no idea that they were sharing the shoreline with seven of the most famous stars in the world. 

 

Interestingly, at one point during the live, the camera (probably accidentally because, as I said, it is mayhem when they are together) cut to their crew standing around with a boom mic. There’s also a mic taped to Jungkook’s hoodie. So it wasn’t totally a day off – they were likely filming, they are always filming, adding to their already exhaustive archive. What were they filming, though? A documentary that tracks the making of their comeback album? A new episode of their variety show Run BTS! If it were up to me, it would be a new season of their travel show Bon Voyage. They’re not in Korea, they’re all living in a house together, they’re all eating and cooking and hanging together all the time, this is perfect for Bon Voyage, but it’ll be months if not longer before we get an idea of what, exactly, they were shooting. 

 

Until then, they continue to be active on socials, some more than others. And certain members are getting invited to participate in some unexpected events. Major League Baseball made the announcement yesterday but I’m not sure they were ready. 

 

Guess what happened? The ticketing site crashed. 

 Will be interesting to see the Dodgers attendance numbers on August 25 and the ratings for that game. Because it’s not just Swifties who answer a call to action. Baseball fans in America are about to witness the impact of BTS.
