The universe is giving us a lesson today: people can surprise you. Leave space in your heart for whimsy. Who knew that Aaron Rogers would appear on the Not Just Football podcast and, completely unprompted, say (in regards to his engagement to Shailene Woodley), “But not a couple of days after that, she tells me, ‘You know, before we get married I gotta go f-ck this guy.” The quiet gasp from the two podcasters, the confusion. And now I have to begrudgingly stan Shailene Woodley. Who is the guy she needed to go f-ck? It doesn’t matter really. Why did Aaron bring this up, completely out of the blue? Because it’s a sentence that haunts him and he wanted to make her look bad. Of course that’s not the way it is going, all he’s done is create quotable lore. This is Olivia Wilde-salad-dressing territory.

And another thing about Shailene: for years she worked with stylist Ilaria Urbinati but more recently has been working with Karla Welch, with excellent results. It feels like a fashion reset.

Andy Cohen being eviscerated by preschoolers because they are meaner than Housewives:

Justin Timberlake showed up at Jay-Z’s show in Paris and celebrated the 20th anniversary of FutureSex/LoveSounds. We all cringe at JT now, but sorry, he and Timbaland made magic on this album. It is top-to-bottom bangers, no skips, dare I say a classic. I think Justin’s fall from pop domination has much less to do with his reputation and everything to do with how high they soared in this era. When you look back, things were already starting to slip when he released his next album, The 20/20 Experience.

Ransom Canyon sounds like a fake show but it was real, and the first season did fine. The second season saw a dip, causing Netflix to pull the plug.  The Deadline story points to a “considerable” budget for Minka Kelly and Josh Duhamel, but on the flip side, Minka and Josh have about 4 million insta followers combined, a very respectable number for marketing.

This is interesting: The Gentleman has lost 500k viewers, when comparing debut numbers between season one and two seasons one and two. And the big takeaways mention Meghan Markle, but Meghan isn’t in the season and was never confirmed for season three. It has been a persistent rumour, but tying her to the ratings fall is kind of nuts. She’s not even on the cast! I’m sure the UK media will find some way to blame her, rather than pointing to the very obvious Netflix sophomore slump that has impacted multiple shows.

Telluride Film Festival is a bit of a vibe this year, I’m a sucker for celebrities walking around in big ol’ sweaters in the mountains.
