I kind of forgot about Sofia Ritchie Grainge’s fashion line but I’m confused as to why summer is being released now. That is very late for retail. Spring/summer pieces are on sale to make room for Fall collections.

I’ve read You Are Here and this is really perfect casting.  Author David Nicholls also wrote One Day, which was a middling movie starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess and an excellent Netflix series starring Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall. I don’t think there are a lot of authors who can say their book was adapted twice, with such different results. Nicholls wrote this 8-part series for BBC; he wrote the film adaption of One Day as well. The One Day Netflix series was written mostly by multiple people, with eight of 14 credited to Nicole Taylor.

SKIMS is on its second collaboration with Nike and has largely stepped away from hiring buzzy actors and athletes for campaigns, and I wonder if this is part of a larger acquisition strategy. Nike has bought Umbro, Converse and Hurley.

Director Joseph Kahn, who is best known for his work with Taylor Swift and makes films largely outside of the studio system, took to Instagram to clarify his op-ed for The Hollywood Reporter, “Bring Back the Hollywood Assholes”. It’s a click-bait title that people made assumptions about but if you read the article, Kahn’s assertion is that bold and confrontational Hollywood execs are a necessary part of the ecosystem (not execs who throw things at assistants or are sex pests).

Tenacity, a stomach for risk, and discipline are missing from the current system, which relies on algorithms doing the work of a human gut check. It’s an interesting read.
