Bad Bunny’s season premiere
There’s a lot going on this weekend besides someone’s album drop. Saturday Night Live is back for season 51 and the host for the first episode will be Bad Bunny, fresh off the announcement that he’ll be headlining the Super Bowl.
Bad Bunny has become an SNL favourite, an idea they played with for the first promo – it’s Benito getting too familiar with the cast.
This will be the first time Benito has been miced since the news so it’ll be interesting what he says in the monologue, and whether he’ll deliver part or all of it in “non-English” like he’s done before. Will also be interesting to see how much he participates in any sketches about the current US administration. It’s obvious by now that he is not a fan.
Can we talk about read-through though? The second slide below:
My focus is on the food. I wish there was a better quality look at what it all is! People are more creative when there are snacks, fact.
But to go back to that person who’s releasing an album – the schedule for Taylor Swift’s release weekend was posted the other day and there’s a curious “standby” on Saturday.
Places, everyone! #TSTheLifeofaShowgirl comes out this week, and your official schedule is here! Make sure to clock in as we celebrate all week long. ❤️🔥 pic.twitter.com/bNJAGW7ZnO

Standby on Saturday night… ?
Not sure if this is worth noting but the two US talk shows she’s doing, The Tonight Show and Late Night with Seth Meyers, are on NBC. So is SNL. That’s why some of her fans are wondering/hoping/clowning that she might make a surprise appearance.
What else happened today…
Dustin Rowles on why “There Is Nothing More American Than Bad Bunny”. (Pajiba)
Nora Princiotti “12 Questions Ahead of Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl”. (The Ringer)
I really like this outfit on Riley Keough except for the dangly bits coming off her sweater. The pants are great though. (Go Fug Yourself)
I saw One Battle After Another on Monday and one of the first things I wanted to talk about when the movie was over is Sean Penn’s walk. A LOT of people are talking about the Lockjaw walk. And recreating it on social media. (The Mary Sue)
We celebrate a new king! The Rise of Chunk! May his reign be fat as f-ck. (Celebitchy)
