What Else?
The Fug Girls are doing their annual Vogue cover predictions for 2025 and I totally agree, I feel like we will see Sabrina Carpenter get a Vogue cover this year. But my prediction is… Taylor Swift. It’s been a long minute since Taylor was last on a Vogue cover. British Vogue in 2020, I think? But no other Vogues since. She has to be at the top of Anna Wintour’s list and for the September issue, although when it comes to Taylor, Anna will take Taylor any month she can get her. A five year drought is long enough. Please, someone, put her in a proper editorial with the styling. (Go Fug Yourself)
Anyone here watch The Traitors? I covered this past season of The Traitors Canada for ETALK and the show was batsh-t. I’ve heard that among Traitors fans, it’s considered one of the best, because the cast was so chaotic. The third season of the American version premieres this week and Emma Chance, a Traitors expert, says it’s the best (American) cast yet. Here’s why I could never be on this show – because when you go to your room at night, you can’t do anything, no TV, no phones, I’m not even sure they’re allowed to read. I would give myself up on the first day. (Pajiba)
This is a really great piece by Andy Steiner about the “Gamification of Pop Music”. Super insightful but also… kinda scary. Because music is art. And art should not be a f-cking game where fans earn points and manipulate the data to boost their faves. But this is where art, or what used to be art, has been heading for a while. Maybe I’m just an old lady who wants music, arguably the most powerful artform, to remain pure. Or maybe I just don’t understand music anymore. But none of this feels like what music should be – personal and purposeful and fun and a reflection of experiences that you can relate to without deciding what number should be attached to it. Anya Taylor-Joy was at the Golden Globes. And she looked like… well… she always does. I can’t get it up for this look because they’re all kinda sorta starting to look the same for her at award shows, is it just me? (Celebitchy)
I love a cookie sheet. It’s so useful. I was today years old when I heard of a quarter cookie sheet. Amy McCarthy is making the quarter cookie sheet sound like a miracle. And I believe her. I want one! Or two! (Eater)
