I have been admiring Olivia Colman’s long, greying curls since she revealed them on the Wicker press tour, and now she is giving us “Going Grey: Blow Out Edition”.

Gods, She looks FANTASTIC.

Her Wicker co-star, one might say her Wicker man, Alexander Skarsgård apparently agrees, as he donned a curly grey wig for a screening of Wicker in Los Angeles yesterday.

I hope people know that Alexander Skarsgård is one of those leading men who actually LIKES women, and this is a good fun joke that Olivia Colman, who has a great sense of humor, is not going to be bothered by this. I worry, though, that the youths don’t know these things. Alexander Skarsgård is not of their generation, this man is 50—FIFTY!!!!—and they didn’t get to see him in his True Blood prime, or all the weird movies he made after True Blood lined his pockets. They also seem kind of allergic to googling to find this stuff out, and I know Google sucks now, but also like…please just do a bare-bones sweep of basic information before forming hard opinions. Sorry, I’m still recovering from having to explain Robsten to youths recently, as they only knew Kristen Stewart as an indie queen and Robert Pattinson as a Leading Weirdo and had no idea both have grown out of teen idol fandom.

Anyway, Wicker opens this weekend, and I am so curious to see how it does. Will the romance and/or horny movie faithful turn out for it?

Distributor Black Bear—which is aiming to become a tastemaker a la A24—has done a killer job with this press tour. They released a bodice-ripper inspired poster for the movie, in a time when we barely see creative key art anymore.

And if you call 775-WICK-LUV, you’ll get romantic/sexy wicker man soundbites from the film:

Effort! Let’s just hope people actually show up.
