Dear Gossips,
Sydney Sweeney is at Paris Fashion Week since she’s one of Miu Miu’s ambassadors. She arrived at the show in a fit that is super Miu Miu coded – leather jacket and short loose pleated skirt, socks, and pumps.
Reminds me that we didn’t talk much about her dress at the Vanity Fair Oscars party that was custom Miu Miu and, apparently, one of the most viral looks of the night. Pink, sequins, body, that’ll always do it on the internet.
For the most part, I prefer Sydney’s street style over red carpet. Like yesterday she stepped out in Paris in a great denim jacket over a skirt or skort and brown boots. Isn’t this so cute?
A few days ago, Sydney posted a photo dump on Instagram featuring Maude Apatow and Barbie Ferreira. Sydney and Maude are super close and Maude is returning for Euphoria season three which is currently in production but Barbie chose to leave after she called out the sh-tty working conditions and the chaotic environment that showrunner Sam Levinson allegedly encouraged.
Before heading back to work on Euphoria, Sydney was shooting The Housemaid, Paul Feig’s next film, with Amanda Seyfried. It’s a psychological thriller and the central relationship will be between Sydney’s character, the housemaid, and her boss Amanda, the matriarch of the family she lives with, based on the book of the same name by Freida McFadden and, kinda sorta in the same literary category as Gone Girl.
But Sydney, of course, went into that project after shooting the Christy Martin biopic in the lead role. We saw all kinds of photos of her physical transformation, from bombshell to boxer. The film is still untitled, and is currently in post-production but given that David Michôd is the director, whose previous work has been festival-friendly, it’ll be interesting to see if it’s done in time for the fall festival circuit – Venice, Telluride, TIFF – and then, perhaps, some kind of award season run? Seems like it’s the kind of role where they might push for a nomination. Don’t be surprised if in six months we’re talking about Sydney on the campaign trail. As we just saw, the Academy loves an ingenue.
