Last week at The Squawk, I posted a piece about press tour wardrobes, how they’ve evolved from the 90s and 2000s to now, as entire lookbooks are built around the release of a single movie. The main point of the article, though, is that Zoë Saldaña doesn’t get enough credit for being one of the first, if not the first, over 15 years ago, to really set a standard during the press tours for both Star Trek and the first Avatar.

The press tour for Avatar: Fire and Ash kicked off last night in Hollywood. In terms of budget and expected gross, this is the biggest release of the holiday season and the international box office has always been a key factor in the franchise’s success. So it makes sense that they’re starting in Los Angeles and then making their way to overseas markets. For Zoë, this means that the Saint Laurent dress she wore last night is just the first of what will be many, many, many. And that’s just before the end of the year. Because as the reigning Best Supporting Actress Oscar winner, she’ll have a presence during award season too as a returning presenter.

The Saint Laurent was a little surprising to me when I first saw… because of how deceptively plain it was. But I’d only seen it from one side. The other side is where the party is.

The orange bow is a cute detail, if you can get past allll that body. Is it a spectacle? No. But she’s the mother of this game, you don’t blow your load on the first stop. And they’re heading to Paris and then China. I can’t wait to see what she and her stylist, Petra Flannery, have planned.

What else happened today…

Megan The Stallion won her defamation lawsuit against a blogger who actually got lucky that Meg wasn’t awarded more in damages. Now leave her alone! (Pajiba)

The British Fashion Awards happened last night and someone showed up in the naked Jean Paul Gaultier look. And I don’t mean an outfit that is so sheer you might as well be naked but an outfit that is, itself, naked. Flip through the gallery and you’ll see. The guest I’m most excited about is Celia Imrie, the Farter of the Year, looking wonderful in a red suit. (Go Fug Yourself)

It's been almost five years since Regé-Jean broke out in Bridgerton and since then, it doesn’t seem like Hollywood knew what to do with him – because executives lack imagination. He is producing his next television project, an erotic thriller. That is correct, RJP. Do it yourself…and make it horny! (EW)

The end of the year lists always give us something to fight about and I suspect that The Ringer’s list of The 100 Best Episodes of the Century in television will result in some arguments, especially over the episode that occupies the top spot. While the rest of you focus on that, I’ll be over here bitching about the fact that the Shōgun episode is way too low! (The Ringer)

The most wholesome collab of the day is the Muppets x Knives Out crossover. Impossible to watch without a smile on your face the whole time. (Nerdist)
