Jake Gyllenhaal was photographed walking his dog in New York yesterday. Today he was nominated for a BAFTA for his performance in Nightcrawler. So that’s Golden Globe, SAG, Critics Choice, and now BAFTA. He just has one left. Jake's co-star and rumoured girlfriend, Ruth Wilson, is also heading to the Globes this weekend. Keep an eye on that.
Then there’s Joaquin Phoenix who could have very well been part of the award discussion…except that he never wants to be. Inherent Vice isn’t an accessible film. And the reviews just OK. But, as we’ve all seen from Jennifer Aniston, you don’t have to be in a critically acclaimed movie to be nominated for an award. Joaquin’s just the only guy who means it when he says he’s not interested. Here he is at Kimmel yesterday.
Finally, Naomi Watts at the Audi pre-Globes party with Liev Schreiber. He’ll be representing Ray Donovan and nominated for Best Actor in a TV Drama. She’s part of the Birdman team. I love the look of this leather jacket over that dress. And it’s already a great dress.
