Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are due in court on Friday for a restraining order hearing. Late last week it was reported that Laura Wasser, Johnny’s lawyer, wanted to depose Amber and her witness ahead of the court date. Amber’s team said they were out of town for an engagement party and then a costume fitting for Amber in London for Justice League. Apparently the two sides have been negotiating; Johnny supposedly offered Amber $50K a month for the next 8 months but she passed because the offer came with a condition – Johnny was asking that they both submit to mutual restraining orders and Amber was like, no thanks, you were the one that punched me, what the f-ck do you need protection for? And besides, his bodyguards?!

Anyway, as you know, Team Depp TMZ’s position is that Amber wants money. Late yesterday she cancelled her request for temporary spousal support for the restraining order hearing. According to TMZ:

Amber says she only asked for it because she thought it was standard operating procedure in a divorce case, but now feels Depp's team is twisting it in the media. In the docs, she says it's being "used against me to distract and divert the public away from the very serious real issue of domestic violence."

She claims Johnny made $30 million last year and, according to the docs ... she believes the court could have ordered him to pay nearly $1 million per month in temporary support.

Important to note -- Amber's not saying she doesn't want any support. In the docs, she reserves the right to go after spousal support in their divorce ... AFTER the restraining order is handled.

So, basically, safety first and money later. Still, it’s the money that’s been a hang-up for those who doubt Amber’s account, even though she has photos and texts and eyewitnesses to back her claims. And I can see it, you know? I can see why that Angela Bassett scene as Tina Turner in What’s Love Got To Do With It might stay your mind.

“Except my name. I'll give up all that other stuff, but only if I get to keep my name. I've worked too hard for it, your honor.”

But, again, is that the only way a woman can be believed? Is a domestic violence victim only telling the truth if she’s willing to forsake material possessions? If it were me, and I spent four years with a guy who beat the sh-t out of me whenever he got drunk or used drugs, I’d want some goddamn cash money to take with me at the end. Then again, I’m a petty ass gossip blogger who’d demand punch pay for every bruise inflicted on my body. Which would make me a terrible victim. This is what I meant on our latest Sasha Answers podcast just posted today. What would happen if it happened to you? What would they say about you? What would they say about me? In my case - she’s a muckraking c-nt. She talks sh-t about people all the time. She talks about sex all the time on her TV show – the positions she likes, the dirty books she reads, the porn she masturbates to. And she buys expensive shoes. And she’s not a mother, she doesn’t want to be a mother. So what she says is the truth must not be the truth. She must not be believed. Now come and kick me in the face and smother me with a pillow. You’ll probably get away with it.
