Victoria and David Beckham, along with son Brooklyn, attended a party last night to celebrate the one year anniversary of Victoria’s flagship store. I’m kinda into the fact that Posh didn’t overdress for this. Tank top, skinny pants, a sparkly jacket on the way in, no jacket on the way out.
As we’ve seen, Victoria has diversified, properly. She went from girl band pop star to solo not-very-successful pop star to wannabe model (she’ll never admit it but you know) to a half-hearted attempt at a reality show to…now… a designer with her own label.
Now that Becks’s soccer career is over then, how will he be diversifying? Well, he wants to own a major league team. He’s been modelling. And also…acting…? Guy Ritchie gave him a small role in his upcoming Knights Of The Round Table movie and now there’s this short film for Belstaff. It’s 17 minutes long. I tried to watch the whole thing, I did, but I only had time this morning for 2 minutes before asking myself …why?
All I can tell you is that, from the little that I’ve seen, he doesn’t talk. Someone else is talking for his mind, in Spanish, which, OK, but I don’t see the connection. Is David Beckham such an enigma that I need his thoughts to be conveyed to me in Spanish…through English subtitles? Since when has the spirit of David Beckham been so complicated that, as an Englishman, he needs to be translated into Spanish and then read in English words on the screen? Maybe it’s just me and I don’t get the art. He does look good in that leather jacket though.
