Uhhhhh…

There’s a feature in the April issue of VOGUE:

Meet Hollywood’s New Brat Pack.

Before we talk about the new Brat Pack, can we review the ORIGINAL 80s Brat Pack? Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Judd Nelson, Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, Andrew McCarthy, Anthony Michael Hall, Ally Sheedy…

And they HATED the label at the time. I read somewhere that they actually all stopped hanging out together when everyone started calling them that. They were embarrassed by it. They didn’t wear it with pride. It was actually a career detriment, to be included as a member; their reputations were damaged.

Now?

Apparently it’s a compliment.

VOGUE has declared a new Brat Pack:

Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Ansel Elgort, Dylan and Hopper Penn…

Which is interesting because Sean Penn was considered a peripheral member of the Original Brat Pack. And now his children, evidently, would only pose with each other and not the larger circle because…

Well…

It’s kind of a pathetic “new list”.

I mean if you’re trying to sell me on Ansel Elgort as a new Andrew McCarthy, fine, mayyyyyyybe. But JB as either Estevez or Rob Lowe or Judd Nelson?

HAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAAHA.

I’m all about JB right now and even I don’t see how this is a legitimate comparison, are you kidding me?

That’s probably why Dylan and Hopper Penn evidently would only pose with each other and not any of the larger membership. Like, at this stage of their careers, you don’t turn down a VOGUE appearance. And you have no choice about how they editorialise you. But you can refuse to pose with those whose Hollywood pedigree is significantly less established.
