Jennifer Hudson has lost something like 80 pounds. She looks great. Which, sometimes I hate saying because, like in the example of Kelly Osbourne, somehow it feels like an invalidation of the size that came before. Having said that, Hudson is not Osbourne. She was very successful before Weight Watchers, she’ll continue to be successful beyond it. I’m just having a hard time getting used to her new face. I mean, when you drop that much weight, your face is bound to change. That reminds me of the old Face or Body Debate. You know. Some women choose their asses at the expense of their faces. And some choose their faces and let the ass loosen up, as a little padding on the cheeks can help with the aging.

When Jennifer smiles, you can see it most, how thin her face is now. It’s better when she’s wearing a fringe, as she did on stage during the Aretha Franklin tribute; on the carpet she wore her hair long and parted in the middle, elongated it even further. She’s skinny now. But she also looks older. Nothing in life is free, right? But I do wish she didn’t go all Blake Lively with her chest in this dress. It almost defeats the purpose. You went to all that trouble to size down and that just looks like you’re squeezing into something too small.
