The MTV VMA nominations were announced yesterday. How do you get Beyonce to come to your show? You put her name in as many categories as possible. It’s not like she didn’t give them an entire album’s worth of chances.
The VMAs are happening on August 24th. Guess what? Beyonce just happens to be available. She and Jay Z take On The Run to San Francisco on August 6 and then they break until September 12 for two shows in Paris that will be filmed for the HBO special.
The last time Beysus was at the VMAs it was 2011. She performed Love On Top…and hijacked the entire show with a mic drop belly-rub to announce her pregnancy. I remember it vividly. Because Sasha was crying at me over text. Sh-t, even I was excited, and I don’t really get excited about babies. That’s Beyonce.
But still…since the elevator, there’s been so much speculation that the Carters are done after the tour. No doubt they have their drama to manage. No doubt there’s a LOT of drama to manage – on both sides. But could she really give up the brand?
