Every week or so, I get an email from a particular subset of Twi-Hard. I call them the deniers. These are the ones who refuse to believe that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are no longer together. And that not only are they not broken up, but that she secretly had a baby last year and everything we’re seeing now is an attempt to hide the child. Seriously. It’s amazing.
Just like Twi-Hards, there’s a Cumhard denier faction that will not accept that Benedict Cumberbatch’s engagement to Sophie Hunter is legit. Problem: he’s just given his confirmation. At the Hollywood premiere of The Imitation Game the other night, Cumberbatch told PEOPLE about why he chose to announce his engagement in the newspaper:
"I wanted to have some control over the message. I don't Tweet or do social media. It's too impersonal. I would rather do what we did, and have people find it, and not see us from some sh-tty, grainy footage staring lovingly into each others eyes with a ring on someone's finger. I wanted it to be ours. We're so happy, and we just wanted to let everyone know how happy we are. One of the most incredible things about getting engaged, which we had no idea would be coming back our way, is the amount of love that just comes flooding back. I thought it was just all about us declaring that we were in love and getting married, but actually it's the world going, 'We love you too!' It's amazing. Family, friends, the world … it's amazing."
Well, clearly the deniers aren’t crying loud enough for him to hear their anguish. I want to see a Cumhard equivalent of that girl who’s always freaking out and sobbing on YouTube about Twilight. You know the one? This one. Is there a Cumhard version of this broad?
