Matthew McConaughey was in New York this weekend shooting Gold. They’ve been working on the film since July and are expected to wrap soon. Matthew plays Kenny Wells, always looking for his big break, and ends up partnering with Edgar Ramirez on a gold hunt in Indonesia. They’re hoping to release it next year. And maybe appeal to the old ass Oscar voter who can relate to Matthew’s glowing pate?

Gold is not to be confused with Fool’s Gold, the 2008 cinematic treasure co-starring Kate Hudson. I’ve now decided that I miss the Matthew McConaughey rom-com in which he only plays guys called Ben and has at least one scene in a beater tank. It’s true, isn’t it?
