Maverick: Legend of the Skies (aka Top Gun: Maverick, the lesser title) had a spot during the Super Bowl that shows off heavy breathing and everyone being Out To Get Maverick (Legend of the Skies). We see more of that amazing flight footage while getting voice-over from Miles Teller as Gosling (that is not his name or call sign in the movie BUT IT SHOULD BE) saying he will not believe in Maverick (legend of the skies), and there is Jon Hamm threatening to have him court-martialed, and other dialogue about how people think Maverick (Legend of the Skies) is a total piece of sh-t now. Full Story

Baz Luhrmann is making a film about Elvis Presley. The story is reportedly about his early years and the relationship between Elvis and his manager Colonel Tom Parker who will be played by Tom Hanks. Baz co-wrote the script with Craig Pearce and I wonder about the source material. If you’ve been reading this site a while, you know I have a thing for Elvis. Full Story

Remember all the drama over Henry Cavill’s moustache in Mission: Impossible – Fallout? Two studios were fighting over that moustache which resulted in his moustache looking super weird in Justice League. Sarah’s theory, hilariously, about the moustache and why it even needed to happen at all in Mission: Impossible – Fallout was that Tom Cruise won’t let anyone look more handsome than him in any movie. Full Story

Last week Lainey wrote about the short list to play Goose’s son in Top Gun 2, which included Nicholas Hoult, Glen Powell, and Miles Teller. Proving that we live in the darkest timeline, Variety is reporting that Miles Teller has been cast as Goose Jr. Lainey preferred Full Story

Movies about gritty men with gritty jobs only get made when something terrible happens (see also: Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon), so you know going in that Only The Brave, a film about a group of wildfire-fighting “hotshots”, is going to have something terrible in it. The Granite Mountain Hotshots became the first municipal wildfire-fighting crew in US history, and the first half of Only The Brave details what it took for them to achieve that. Full Story

Miles Teller in Bleed For This

Sarah Posted by Sarah at November 18, 2016 16:28:13 November 18, 2016 16:28:13

Have you ever seen a boxing movie? Then congratulations, you’ve seen Miles Teller’s new movie, Bleed For This. Based on real events surrounding boxer Vinny Pazienza, Bleed For This is one of those biopics that, despite being essentially true, seems too cliché to be anything but a Hollywood story. Full Story

Miles Teller and Jonah Hill in War Dogs

Sarah Posted by Sarah at August 31, 2016 13:56:09 August 31, 2016 13:56:09

Playing a little catch up as we close out August, starting with Todd Phillips’ latest bro-nightmare movie, War Dogs. For a director known for comedies—namely The Hangover trilogy, but also Road Trip, Old School, and Due Date, among others—Phillips doesn’t seem to like directing comedies. Full Story
