Nina Dobrev and boyfriend Austin Stowell walked their first premiere red carpet together at the NYFF premiere of his film, Bridge of Spies, on Sunday. The two were previously snapped together at a New York Fashion Week event last month but this is step-and-repeat. It’s a whole other level. Oh, and also, I called it.
A few weeks ago at TIFF, I hit up the pre-party for Nina’s upcoming movie-within-a-movie The Final Girls. The film is a great piece of comic horror popcorn — much like Scream, but funnier — and as I wrote then, it’s “Pleasantville on crack.” Austin and Nina were very much together at the party, certainly not hiding their affection, and spent the night together taking selfies and hanging out with her home crowd.
Which is why I predicted the two could make their first, sanctioned public appearance as a couple at Bridge of Spies, alongside Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Austin’s Public Morals boss, Ed Burns and wife Christy Turlington-Burns. A well-chosen crowd to roll with.
Nina and Austin also had a double date night in New York the night before, and Lauren Paul documented it all on social media:

For Nina, it’s not a bad way to celebrate a new movie role in Arrivals opposite Asa Butterfield and Maisie Williams. According to Deadline, she starts shooting in South Africa in the winter, leaving a lot of time to make all the right life after Vampire Diaries connections and happily support her boyfriend at the same time.
