I watched all of Too Much this weekend and loved it. Andrew Scott was so good but I won’t give away why, because it’s not how we are used to processing Andrew Scott.

I’ve been thinking about this show and one of the many things I loved about it is that there are several people who are “too much.” Typically, when a woman is written as “too much,” her love interest will be totally emotionally available and mature, grounded, and of course wealthy. His apartment will be spectacular. He has great bros and a “whacky” and loving family. That’s the mold. But Felix is “too much” too and it makes it so compelling because you are watching two people crash into each other, rather than one person save the other.

I love dissecting a good birthday post and this one from Minka Kelly to her boyfriend Dan Reynolds (of Imagine Dragons) is a doozy. She praises him, which is expected, but she also specifically mentions his ex-wife in a very complimentary way. The focus, however, is on how he treats his ex. Very interesting because Dan and Aja Volkma separated, then got back together, then split again, and he started dating Minka Kelly right away. He has spoken positively about his ex. But Minka and Dan are both famous and Aja is not… what if she doesn’t want to be part of this birthday post?

Outlets are going to pick this up and run a story about Minka praising his ex-wife. So is this a consciously uncoupled situation, or a “I’d like to be excluded from this narrative” situation for Aja?

Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemmons at Rodarte. They met on Fargo, which was ten years ago. I will stop talking about them now because the best way to support our favourites is to leave them alone.

Range Rover had the best-dressed guest list at Wimbledon, hands down. This is better than most fashion front rows.

This is something that has ticked me off for a long time but I couldn’t exactly express why and The Cut captures it perfectly: stop with the elaborate cakes. I think it stems from baking competition extremism and food maximalism, but often times the designs are corny and the cakes taste TERRIBLE. To design a cake shaped like a Louboutin or whatever, it has to be made of shellac. Bring back humble homemade cakes! I’m using Meghan Markle as an example here because a lot of people criticised her baking but this is what homemade baking looks like. And I bet those cupcakes were moist AF.
