Andy Cohen hard-launched his new BF the old-fashioned way, holding hands on a pap walk.

Speaking of Andy Cohen, this New York/Real Housewives/Sex and the City lore is something else. OK, deep breath: on And Just Like That… Carrie and Seema make a joke about Bethenny Frankel (you can watch the clip here). SJP and Andy Cohen are really good friends. Bethenny was famously a Housewife and fell out with Bravo and Andy, he won’t even utter her name now. Bethenny was married to Jason Hoppy for less than 3 years and their divorce took 10 years to settle while Bethenny was off-and-on Real Housewives of New York. Jason is now with…SJP’s former nanny.  I believe it was DeuxMoi who put these dots together first, so credit where it is due.

In an essay for Sight & Sound, Quentin Tarantino says that since the pandemic he hasn’t found a movie he doesn’t “pick to death” (but he did enjoy The Rip). This is no surprise; Quentin is a Grade A hater. You don’t develop such a specific directorial aesthetic by being a chill person. Also, this kind of criticism is in his blood, he worked at Video Archives in Manhattan Beach for five years. No one on earth could dissect and critique a movie like people who manned the video store checkout counter on Friday night. They were strict.

Only Murders in the Building is filming in London, not sure how far into summer they will go. I wonder if Selena and Benny will get an invite to Muskoka with Martin Short.

“You were a f-cking makeup artist at a MAC counter in f-cking Toronto. She smiled on you and waved her wand.” Kelly Cutrone really does have a way with words.

It’s Angelina Jolie’s birthday and she’s making some literal moves, listing her famous LA estate. Vivienne and Knox turn 18 this summer, so perhaps that frees the family to move out of the US from a legal standpoint. As it stands, the other four Jolie kids are not kids anymore – they are away at college or presumably living their adult lives. What I’d like to see for Angelina in her next phase is a big box office hit. She was a solid action star and she’s won an Oscar, but raising 6 kids through a contentious divorce is not compatible with filmmaking or being on set 14 hours a day. Maybe now she has some space to focus on work again, if she wants to.
