Among the many events it hosts, Variety added another, extending its Power of Women celebration to London for an inaugural class of Brits including Hannah Waddingham, Emma Corrin—the first non-binary person to be recognized with the award, which maybe suggests we need new names for these things—Emilia Clarke, Suki Waterhouse, and Cynthia Erivo. Dame Joan Collins was also recognized with the Icon of the Year award.

There were fashion choices, of course. Cynthia Erivo, for instance, wore tartan and towering boots…

While Suki Waterhouse wore a shiny rag:

Suki has semi-kooky style, but this dress isn’t kooky, it’s a bad design combined with a bad fabric. But she was not alone, as Emilia Clarke wore a black towel. The c-nty bob is doing something, the dress is doing nothing.

Emma Corrin, meanwhile, went for a suit look (as did Havana Rose Liu - photos below). The red shoes are a fun touch.

Hannah Waddingham, however, stuck with her typical figure-hugging style. No shade, she’s a bombshell. There’s a reason it’s a running joke in Ted Lasso that everyone wants to climb her like a tree.

Ted Lasso, of course, gave Hannah Waddingham her Emmy-winning role. After a disappointing third season, there are a lot of questions hanging over the upcoming fourth season. First and foremost, the show has to win back its audience, but I also wonder about the Emmys. The fourth season will be eligible for 2027. That’s a long way away, but Ted Lasso was an Emmy darling during its initial run, with over 50 nominations and 13 wins.

The Emmys have a habit of always nominating the same stuff, but this is where long breaks between seasons can be a factor. It’s been three years, plenty of time for people to sort out their feelings and shake off hype. Recapturing the audience is one thing, recapturing the Emmys is something else entirely.
