I hadn’t heard that Renee Zellweger and Ant Anstead had split (it was in the Daily Mail) but his rep came out strongly, telling PEOPLE the rumour is “disrespectful”. Daily Mail had specific reporting about Ant with another woman and the rep clarified that he stayed at her guest house because they are part of a friend group in Laguna Beach. So the Daily Mail had the right name, but the wrong circumstances? 

 

I’m inclined to believe anyone over DM…but the use of the word “disrespectful” is doing a lot here. It’s low-level gossip and Renee is a super A-lister currently filming Only Murders in the Building in New York while Ant is working in the UK; distance is definitely an easy target for tabloids. But the Daily Mail is hardly the New York Times so why is his rep so pressed? This is a Streisand Effect situation.

Another story out of the Daily Mail and this one is verified: Gigi and Bella Hadid have connected with a previously unknown half-sister on their father’s side. They gave DM a statement (which tells me that the Daily Mail was going to run the story with or without one) and it’s incredibly mature, loving and quite sweet. 

 

It seems like they are embracing and protecting her as best as they can.
