Back in January, when so many of us were stupidly oblivious to the sh-t that 2020 would be bringing, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston dominated celebrity gossip headlines because of the “moment” they shared at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. They both won that night – he took home Best Supporting Actor (and would go on to win the Oscar) for his work in Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood and she won Best Actress Drama for her performance in The Morning Show. When they ran into each other backstage, in the presence of photographers, those pictures broke the internet.
Yesterday both Brad and Jen were nominated for Emmys. For some reason, the Television Academy recognised Brad in the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series category for playing Dr Anthony Fauci on Saturday Night Live. Well, we all know the reasons. The TV Academy will get Brad Pitt at their show (if there is a show) any way they can. And also people love Dr Fauci. It was Dr Fauci who suggested that Brad play him when he was asked the question during an interview on CNN back in April. Last week, Variety reported that Lorne Michaels is trying to get SNL back into the studio when the new season kicks off in September. NBC hasn’t commented, nor has the network confirmed an air date but it seems like it’s a no-brainer that at some point Dr Fauci and Brad will be onscreen together.
To go back to Brad and Jen, after what happened at the SAGs, now there’s another reason why everyone wants the Emmys to go on like normal, even though after the SAGs…and all that hope… and all those bullsh-t tabloid stories, well, that’s all it was: a friendly encounter between exes. Still, there are those who will never give up on that dream. Don’t let me get in your way.
Here’s Brad yesterday seen arriving at Angelina Jolie’s gated community, presumably for a visit with their children. Their divorce is still not final but the two are reportedly amicable these days and part of the delay is the slow court system due to the pandemic. We’re coming up on four years now since their breakup. Howwwwww did it go by so fast?
