Dennis Quaid said he wants his son Jack to “reverse nepo” him, which is pretty funny. Clearly he’s joking but this must come up for parents whose children have now met and exceeded their career heights. 

 

I wonder if there’s any parents nudging their kids to get them a little help, maybe a new agent or a producer hookup. 

 

This morning Sarah wrote about Martin Short and Meryl Streep and before I get to my thoughts, I wanted to link to my piece about Meryl’s divorce. The big story then was that it was leaked by DeuxMoi and at the time, I was wondering who was selling Meryl Streep out. I still wonder but have my guesses. I also Gossip Genie’d Marty and Meryl. Not because I’m a genius but because it makes sense – wonderful sense. Sometimes, we can have nice things.

You know what Ted Danson loves?  A sitcom. And we love him for it! He’s once again working with Mike Schur in A Man on the Inside for Netflix. Both Mike and Ted have a long history with NBC, interesting that they’ve moved to Netflix as a half-hour series typically isn’t the streaming format.

 

Speaking of nepos, WHAT happened to Scott Eastwood? He was everywhere at one point. And it’s not like anything egregious happened, the buzz just died out. 

 

Despite pretty smart timing, the news of Bennifer 2.0 continues to dominate the headlines. It’s the “cryptic posts from exes” part of the new cycle but you know who steers clear? Ana de Armas. She and Ben were a Covid relationship and despite the pap walks and his big fame, the relationship hasn’t clung to her. She isn’t known as his ex or tied to him in any way, which is a good thing for her personally and professionally.

 

As Suri Cruise checked into college, it has been noted that her biological father was not there. He has not been there in years, why start now? Anyway, the Daily Mail  has a big bold heading about Tom Cruise paying her tuition. And? A source says it’s because he’s a “stand up guy” but the reporting also says he’s obligated to pay it per the terms of their divorce. And if you are a multi-millionaire many times over, what is $65k a year? This is not generosity, it’s contractual obligation. He probably spends more than that on teeth whitening. Their non-relationship is well-documented, and I don’t think the “source” here is helping Tom out.
