Flip to the third photo in this album to see Emma Roberts (who reposted this in her stories). There’s already a fight brewing over this between online menace Bethenny Frankel and professional delulu artist Luann De Lesseps.
Emma Roberts is a huge fan and knows how these women move – she’s probably getting a kick at being quite literally on the periphery of the drama.
Taymerica hasn’t happened in years and obviously this year is a skip because of the tour. But if we look at the essence of the parties – wholesome, all-American fun in the sun with the gang – Taylor has never been more Taymerican than right now. I wonder if she’s annoyed that the “I heart TS” tank was burned on Tom Hiddleston. Travis would wear that with pride.
On my reading list today: How Celebrity Book Clubs Actually Work, by Sophie Vershbow for Esquire. I had no idea Jenna Bush’s club was up there with Oprah and Reese Witherspoon but it makes sense – she has a wide daily audience.
I wrote about the Sh-tgate on Thursday and the gossip divide is interesting and understandable, with a popular theory emerging that it was leaked by the staff who had to clean it up. While I can see why this has gained traction, household staff typically sign pretty severe NDAs and they would be risking their job, and their future employment. I would also guess that GP, who grew up having staff, knows the value of her household team and hopefully treats them well. So maybe, and this would be a golden scenario, she was pissed he left the mess for her staff and spread the word out of spite. Like in a “don’t f-ck with my cleaning people” kind of way. Am I giving GP too much credit here? Perhaps. But this story made it all the way to Variety, a trade magazine!, so it’s worth dissecting the poop scoop.
For the record, they still follow each other on Instagram.
I’ve compared Glen Powell to Chris Evans before because to me, it’s a case study of the new movie star. They are about 8 years apart in age and Chris has had massive success with Marvel, but no real triumph beyond that. Glen Powell rose as superhero movies were on the decline and ultimately, his career is probably stronger for it. He’s done some great stuff, some OK stuff and some bad stuff, but he’s had a chance to poke around a bit and not be held to long contracts and endless marketing.
