Sabrina Carpenter's star continues to rise – fast. Vogue has a first look at her new video, co-starring her boyfriend Barry Keoghan. A pop star/movie star is classic gossip pairing.

Remember Miley and Liam, back when he was in movies? Fergie and Josh Duhamel, Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake (and before her, Scarlett Johansson!), Robert Pattinson and FKA twigs. We could do this all day.

Page Six has a story that really has me scratching my head, claiming that Beyoncé and Jay-Z are nervous to show their faces because of the Diddy scandal. Um, when does Beyoncé show us anything without complete control? She isn’t getting papped at Erewhon. Also, SHE’S NOT DIDDY. Hundreds, probably thousands, have taken photos with him over the years and hung out at his parties. As we’ve seen over and over, in show business and in life, abusive people do not treat those with power the same way they treat their partners.

Then the story veers into more personal attacks, calling Jay-Z a “whiner” for his Grammy speech and claiming Beyoncé has no chance for AOTY for Cowboy Carter because she isn’t doing traditional promotion. To me, this read like a pissy academy voter who wants her to kiss the ring when in reality they should be glad she shows up to their little song and dance show at all.

There’s a new Vox Media Studios series, based on the New York Magazine story by Caitlin Moscatello, about how the Stauffer parents gave up their adopted child. If you aren’t familiar with the story, I can assure you it’s as bad as it sounds. The details, like about how Myka Stauffer used laundry detergent sponcon as a way to “bond” with Huxley, is next-level dystopian (but also, completely ordinary online!). I don’t know what became of the Stauffers but I do hope there’s an update on Huxley and he’s safe with a family. We don’t need to know anything else about him.

I think these nightmarish mommy influencer stories are becoming more common and will morph into a new genre of media exposes, like true crime. And it’s interesting because Myka left social media but her husband, who was also part of the adoption, continues to promote his business online with very little pushback. He even does Father’s Day ads! This story has gone from online to New York Magazine to non-fiction series and I wonder if a miniseries is next. You know who could play Myka? Brie Larson.

It’s Friday, a relatively slow gossip day and the weather in Vancouver is beautiful. Prayers up for Lainey and Sarah.
