Here is Colin Farrell on the set of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, the upcoming film from Kogonada, with whom Farrell previously made After Yang. It co-stars Margot Robbie, Jodie Turner-Smith (another After Yang alum), Lily Rabe, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and comes from Late Night with Seth Meyers writer Seth Reiss, who also co-wrote The Menu. This film has a helluva pedigree, and I cannot wait to see what this cohort of collaborators brings us.
Every time we write about Colin Farrell, we inevitably get at least one good “Colin in the wild” story, so yes, I am posting this in the hopes of someone piping up with a good Colin story. My Colin story is that one time he looked directly at me, and I peed a little, with the follow-up that years later he remembered me, and I peed a little again. (The good ones always remember people, movie stars and politicians have that overlap. The good ones make you think you’re the only person in the room.) Colin Farrell is unholy hot in person, but more, he just always seems like he’s about to share a great secret. He entices the lean in, which again, is a great trait for a movie star.
Also in Colin Farrell news, some of you are watching Sugar, and I hope it’s working out better for you than it did for me. It started strong but couldn’t hold my interest. It’s exactly the kind of streaming project that probably would have been better served as a two-hour movie, rather than an eight-hour series.
