I don’t think the Met Gala red carpet is influential in any meaningful way, there’s not a lot of “cerulean” trickle down into regular clothing. And that’s fine, it’s supposed to be one extra night of fashion, not street style.

But I am noticing Kate Moss (one of my favourite looks of the night) because she wore ankle boots. This is, of course, very different than most other shoe choices on the red carpet. It’s also a mid-aughts throwback. The ankle boot was the shoe of choice for a solid decade (the Rachel Comey had a chokehold on us). Could the ankle boot be making a big comeback? Just in time for skinny jeans.

The Olsens were in New York but did not attend the Met Gala. They are so rarely photographed together that the timing seemed to indicate an appearance, but nope. They have not attended since 2019, which was the infamous Camp: Notes on Fashion theme. Maybe they were so taken aback by the fashion they can’t do it again.

Goop Kitchen doing sponcon with Anna Delevy is so off-putting, their branding is truly all over the place. I guess the ankle shot is meant to be cheeky but Goop is consistently uptight, so I’m not sure who this is for. Gwyneth Paltrow liked it, so it is part of their marketing plan.

I am still very invested in the Mike Vrabel/Dianna Russini story because who was taking photos of them over the years (going back to 2020!) and just hanging onto them for the right moment? Was it an assistant or friend or coworker or private eye? My working theory is that they were part of a large social group and having a pretty blatant affair, and people were clocking their sh-t for years.

Those people waited for it to break containment and are now sharing their photos. The second question I have is, why are there so many videos of her joking about sex and marriage in professional settings? I think at this point her best play is to write a book – she’s a journalist, so it fits her skill set and clearly she has got something to say. He has the NFL and Patriots to protect him (he’s not going to get fired for cheating on his wife), whereas her career prospects as a sports journalist are now really limited.
