The Bear released a prequel episode centered around Richie and Mikey and announced that its fifth season would be its last. This is a good stopping point, the show has its strengths in the actors but it also has some weaknesses in the depth of its storytelling. But like Euphoria, it’s kind of incredible how many stars have been developed from one cast. Kudos to those casting directors.

Kris Jenner went with the “It’s French!” Fleabag bob and honestly? I’m not mad at it. I much prefer this to endless extensions. And when you pay that much for a snatched jawline, you want to show it off.

American Idol held a “class reunion” with Paula Abdul as a guest judge and Randy Jackson as a mentor. No Simon Cowell. He has not been on the show in any capacity since 2010 and has said that he wouldn’t go back because they can’t recreate the magic. As much nostalgia as there is around the early days, he’s right. First off, the kind of judging that was done then would not fly now and second, there’s a lot more noise in the “talent show competition” category than when American Idol premiered.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson has really good taste in restaurants and in books. Along with his husband Justin Mitka, he produced Aunties, starring Wai Ching Ho, Rosalind Chao, Lauren Tom for Audible, on my listen list this week. Lauren Tom commented that it is the first time she’s worked with Rosalind Cho since Joy Luck Club, which was over 30 years ago!
